UNIS Graduation Ceremony Class 2019 31 May 2019 - Mr. Miguel Ángel Amórtegui, a London-based award-winning film-maker, photographer and investigative journalist, who also works building photography and storytelling skills within disadvantaged communities, will give this year's Commencement Address.
Dear friends,
Reflecting on the UNIS Graduation Ceremony is a source of great joy for me. It was an honor to address the Class of 2019 at the United Nations International School (UNIS) Graduation Ceremony.
As a London-based filmmaker, photographer, and investigative journalist, I've had the privilege of sharing powerful stories from around the world. Speaking at UNIS allowed me to convey the transformative potential of storytelling.
I shared a simple yet profound truth: each of us can be a catalyst for change and shape our narratives. The graduates, standing at the threshold of new beginnings, embraced this message with enthusiasm.
The ceremony celebrated academic achievements and human potential, serving as a reminder that we all have the capacity to make a difference. I hope to have inspired the Class of 2019] as they embark on their unique journeys, armed with the enduring power of storytelling.
Looking back on that special day, I am reminded of the profound impact of narratives in our lives. They inspire, connect, and drive change. The UNIS Graduation Ceremony was a testament to the lasting influence of stories.
I extend my congratulations to the Class of 2019. May your stories be filled with purpose, and may you continue to inspire us all.
Warm regards,
Miguel Ángel Amórtegui
